Surgery
We are equipped to perform many surgeries including but not limited to spays, neuters, gastropexies, mass removals, cystotomies, eye surgery, foreign body obstruction, splenectomies and a few orthopedic surgeries. If we feel your pet would be better served by a board certified surgeon, we will not hesitate to recommend a referral.

Surgical Procedures
At Silver Creek Animal Hospital, we understand how stressful it can be when your pet needs surgery. Our experienced team has more than a decade of surgical experience and completes additional training each year to ensure the highest standard of care. We customize every anesthetic plan based on your pet’s individual needs and medical condition. During every procedure, patients are closely monitored using advanced equipment and protocols comparable to those used in human hospitals—because your pet’s safety and comfort are our top priorities.

What to Expect on Surgery Day
In preparation for your pet's surgery, we will do pre-op bloodwork to ensure your pet can handle anesthesia. We will also send home a couple medications to be given the night before and morning of their procedure. This will help reduce anxiety, allow us to use less anesthetic medications and ensure a smoother recovery for your pet. Your pet should not eat after midnight the night before their procedure but can have a small drink of water in the morning. You will be given a specific drop off time and will be checked in by one of our team members. Please allow 15-20 minutes for this process. Once your pet's surgery is complete and they are in recovery, your doctor will contact you with an update and set a release time. You will receive full written discharge instructions and pain medications to go home. We strive to make this experience as comfortable as possible.
